Alice and her team manage to board a helicopter and escape just as the city is leveled by a nuclear blast. While the world believes the official cover story of a "nuclear power plant meltdown," the survivors know the truth. Alice is captured once more by Umbrella but eventually liberated by her new allies, realizing that while Raccoon City is gone, the fight against the corporation is only just beginning. The story culminates in a brutal showdown atop a skyscraper helipad. Alice is forced to fight Nemesis, only to realize the creature was once Matt Addison, the man who tried to help her escape the Hive. Her humanity triggers a flicker of memory in the monster, leading to a brief moment of rebellion against their corporate masters. The Aftermath

The escape is complicated by Umbrella’s latest "experiment." While Alice represents the successful fusion of human and virus, the is her dark mirror—a hulking, mutated monstrosity programmed with one goal: eliminate all remaining S.T.A.R.S. members and test its combat prowess against Alice.
