Mao Kurata began her career in the entertainment industry at a young age. She started training in singing, acting, and dancing when she was just a child, and her hard work and dedication eventually paid off. In 2016, at the age of 13, Mao joined the Japanese idol group, =LOVE (Ikura), which was formed by producer Yasushi Akimoto.
In addition to her acting career, Mao has also pursued a career in music. As a member of =LOVE, she has released several singles and albums, including the hit song "Anata Dake Ga" (2018). Her music style is a fusion of pop, rock, and electronic elements, and her songs often feature catchy melodies and lyrics that explore themes of love, friendship, and self-discovery.
Mao's big break came in 2018 when she was cast in the Japanese television drama, "3-nen A-gumi". The drama, which was based on a popular manga series, told the story of a group of high school students and their struggles with friendship and love. Mao played the role of Rina Yamada, a kind and gentle soul who becomes embroiled in the drama of her classmates.
