: After discovering that Penny is hosting a party to watch a Nebraska Cornhuskers football game and didn't invite him, Leonard fears she is embarrassed by him. To prove he can fit in, he decides to learn about football. He eventually seeks help from Sheldon, who has an encyclopedic knowledge of the sport due to his upbringing in Texas, where his father forced him to watch games. During the party, Leonard’s over-eager recitation of rules and mechanics alienates him from Penny’s friends.
