The English cast shines here. Christopher Sabat (Yami) and Justin Cook (Jack) have fantastic chemistry, leaning into the over-the-top screaming and petty insults that make the rivalry work.
It is an inoffensive, funny diversion that deepens the "frenemy" bond between Yami and Jack. While the animation is lackluster, the character interactions provide some of the series' best comedic timing.
During the Star Festival, Yami Sukehiro (Black Bulls) and Jack the Ripper (Green Mantises) engage in a ridiculous cooking standoff, selling grilled squid vs. grilled meat.
When their food stalls fail to attract customers, they resort to childish games (arm wrestling, thumb wars) before deciding to settle things with a "death match".
They teleport to a remote cave to fight for real. Just as things get serious, the Wizard King (disguised as an old woman) intervenes using time magic to pull down their pants, ending the fight in mutual embarrassment. 🎨 Production & Dub Quality
