Surprisingly, Biggie was not originally a fan of the song. According to producer Nashiem Myrick, Biggie "didn't even like 'Big Poppa'" and it was one of the very last tracks recorded for the album. Though Biggie was the king of East Coast rap, "Big Poppa" was heavily inspired by the sound popular at the time. It famously samples "Between the Sheets" by The
