The is a former infantry battalion of the Australian Army that was raised in 1967 and famously deployed to the Vietnam War. While it was deactivated in 1973, it was linked with the 8th Battalion to form the 8th/9th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (8/9 RAR) , which is currently active and based at Enoggera Barracks in Brisbane.
